Industrial Collaboration and Partnership

To step up efforts in cultivating talents for FinTech, the Faculty of Engineering has proactive collaboration with industry in establishing corporate partnership with renowned banks and financial organizations.

Hang Seng Bank

The MoU was signed by Prof. Martin D. F. Wong, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, CUHK and Mrs. Eunice Chan, Chief Operating Officer of Hang Seng Bank on 9th December 2019. Hang Seng Bank inspires students of FinTech programmes through designated internships as well as industrial projects. The Bank also designated scholarships for the FinTech students. Both parties believe that closer links between education sector and the banking industry will foster the development of FinTech in Hong Kong.

DBS Hong Kong

The MOU was signed by Professor Martin D. F. Wong, Dean of Engineering, CUHK, and Ms. Brit Blakeney, Head of Innovation & Ecosystems, DBS Hong Kong on 4th November 2019. It is a collaboration of the business and academic sectors to further foster digital innovation and academic strength, exploring more possibilities for the application of digital innovations. Under the MOU, MSc FinTech students will gain first-hand experience in FinTech-related projects, including the digital customer journey, API applications, big data analytics, blockchain, artificial intelligence, machine learning and sustainability, as well as internship opportunities. In addition, students will get to know the industry from the fruitful work experience of DBS Hong Kong mentors and the knowledge they will pass on.

DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited will kindly donate a DBS FinTech scholarship to Year 1 postgraduate students of the MSc in Financial Technology Programme, The Chinese University of Hong Kong on an annual basis starting from the academic year 2019 to recognize students who have ambition and determination to make a big and positive impact on Hong Kong FinTech community, based on their academic achievements and ability, aspiration on development and application of Fintech in banking sector.
