OBJECTIVES
The Manulife Hong Kong Innovation Scholarship supports students who exemplify Manulife’s core values—integrity, innovation, customer-centricity, and a commitment to improving lives. It is awarded to individuals with clear aspirations to contribute to FinTech or AI ecosystem in Hong Kong, China. The scholarship empowers them to pursue their academic and professional goals more effectively.
ELIGABILITY
Both local or non-local students are eligible. Applicants must:
• Full-time or part-time Final Year students of MSc in FinTech in the respective academic year; and
• Have attained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above by the time of application; and
• Demonstrate a strong alignment with Manulife’s core values, including integrity, innovation, customer-centricity, and a commitment to making decisions easier and lives better; and
• Show clear aspirations to contribute to the development of FinTech or Artificial Intelligence (AI) ecosystem in Hong Kong, China, through academic work, personal projects, internships, or community engagement; and
• Provide evidence of genuine financial need, supported by documentation, and articulate how the scholarship would enable them to pursue their academic and professional goals more effectively.
SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT AND QUOTA
The scholarship values HKD50,000 per awardee. The number of scholarships awarded each year shall be determined by the sponsor.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Applicants should submit the completed application form, academic transcript and one-page personal statement to the Faculty Office, Faculty of Engineering in early September. (Exact date will be announced later)
SELECTION
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a selection interview with the sponsor. The decision of the sponsor is final and not subject to review, and the reasons for nominating, shortlisting, granting or refusing to offer an award will not be given. )
